Dr. José Ramón Salgueiro,  Associate Professor  in the University of Vigo. He got his PhD in Physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela en 2001 working on the field of integrated optics. Later on he was Assistant Professor at the University of Vigo in Ourense and lead his research towards nonlinear optics working with the Óptica Física group. In 2002 he became Postdoctoral Fellow at the Nonlinear Physics Center of the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra (Australia). In 2005 he got a Ramón y Cajal programme contract at the University of Vigo, where he is Associate Professor at the moment and carries out research on the fields of photonic crystals, nonlinear optics, plasmonics, THz technology and photonic sensors.
